So I'm sorry that I haven't been updating for a while, I haven't been in the mood to write a blog post. Actually there were some considerations (which will be revealed in due time, i.e. in this post) of deleting this blog but due to recent circumstances I decided to keep this blog.
A lot of things have happened since I've last updated; I'm not going to go into the details because we will be here for a very long time, I think dot points will have to suffice for now.
- As you all know, I had my first overseas trip which included visiting Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris, London and Hong Kong. It was quite an epic trip for me, I never thought i would be so lucky to have this experience.
Photos: 1 &2 Amsterdam, 3 &4 Zurich, 5-8 London (5-Westminster Abbey 6-Shakespeare's Globe 7-Piccadilly Circus 8-Tate Modern) Sorry my selection of photos are not that great, but its late and I'm sleepy.
-Amsterdam was my favorite city- the canals, walkways and architecture was just stunning, very friendly and lively atmosphere. Yes I visited the Red Light District and no i didn't try any hash brownies.
-Zurich had the most serene atmosphere, and again the whole city was beautiful. The Swiss Alps are super super cold, especially when you don't have the right snow clothes! Nonetheless, the snow draped mountains and the little trees below were perfect. Also, that was my first snow experience, pretty good hey?
-Paris was such a pretty city, despite no one really understood my French, which was sad.
-London was an awesome experience, it was also the part of my holiday where I was alone. Despite being very homesick, I managed to somewhat to pull out of that state and enjoy London. It has a very similar atmosphere to Melbourne and no language barrier! I love London, and being home now, I miss it even more. I wish I could back but next time I'm going to go with someone.
-One of the highlights of the holiday was being able to go see We Are The In Crowd, The Maine and All Time Low in concert. Sure it cost me quite a bit of money to make the day trip to Leeds, but boy was it worth it! I think i'm going to say it is my second favorite out of all the ones I've been too (the first being the concert i lost my concert virginity to, which was Hot Chelle Rae and Boys Like Girls). I definitely think The Maine's set was much better than the Australians one they did. There was a lot of John's dancing which I am addicted to watching and makes me quite giddly just thinking about it. Sadly I didn't get a photo with John as he didn't come out after the show, but no matter, I just have to catch him when I see them again in April.
-It was such an amazing experience and I cannot wait to be able to come back to visit those cities again and the rest of Europe.
-Looking back, I just feel so incredibly lucky to have had this experience, especially just being able to go the concert and yes, visiting the European cities and London and Hong Kong as well. I never thought that my first overseas trip would be this awesome, I feel very blessed, it was a perfect start to the year.
-While in Paris, I got a dentistry offer for Griffith University in Gold Coast. I didn't actually believe that i got the offer, my focus was on Latrobe Dentistry so i didn't think of the other places I applied. When i got the email from QTAC, I kept thinking that they've made a mistake, something went wrong. However, it's weird how things work out. It turned out Latrobe screwed up with their offers by having too many students enrolling leaving little or no spaces for non-standards/transfers students. So lucky I applied and got a dentistry offer. I am still very angry at Latrobe for screwing up, it means I have to move away from my family and friends. But I'm beyond happy that I am doing dentistry. Hopefully I will get over Latrobe, I just really didn't want to move away, Melbourne is home and will always be. Somehow, I still a little empty because my final goal was Dentistry at Latrobe.
-So learning after I'm definitely moving to Queensland, I've been spending as much time as possible with all my friends, and that's what my days have consisted of =)
-That's why I thought it is important for me to keep this blog running, its a method of connecting with friends when I'm all the way in the Gold Coast.
Love Squealer
