It's been way too long since my last post, it's just that I got lazy as usual, busy with uni and exams, and of course my tv shows. Anywhoo I'll do my best to remember the important events.
My 21st Birthday Party
I had so much planned for this party as it was a milestone, but as always things in your head don't always get executed as planned. I think I just procrastinated way too much the first half of the holidays, thinking that I had plenty of time to make everything, however I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out, although I would have liked to pay more attention to the little details, like little signs and whatnot.
The highlight of the day was my "M" wall, and the home-made photo booth. I'm glad people got a lot of use out of it, mainly my Monash pharmily. It was awesome to catch up with everyone and hang out, and I liked that people were there for me, it's a nice feeling. We played some celebrity heads and obviously band hero.
Also I know I don't always have the best birthday cakes, but that's because I have so much on my plate the night beforehand so I can't dedicate much time to perfecting the cake. Generally my cakes are better, I swear. I'm so happy with my The Maine themed (although I wished they would have retweeted it), I love the band so much and I wish I could do parties for all my bands. It was awesome to see everyone, especially some people who I haven't seen for ages.
I'm sure you guys don't want a full every detailed recap, so I'll leave you with the photos...
Well I was going to write some more but I'm tired and it's late. Until next time which hopefully won't be that far in the future.

Hello World
My friend gave me her photos from our outings, so I thought I would share them. They're all from the things we did that I'm pretty sure I've blogged about before. And I am still very proud of my rainbow cake.
My blogging has been all over the place and I apologize for that. It's not that I don't have the time, I think its just the laziness, I barely even study anymore, I basically spend my time sleeping and watching tv shows. It doesn't make it any better that the tv shows are coming back. Anywho, on with what's been happening to me.
Clubbing:
My friends had wanted to do an all nighter in Brisbane as a catharsis for the mid-sems that we recently had. I was still undecided about whether to go or not because clubbing isn't really my scene. In the end I decided to go because I wanted a new experience, and because I didn't want to stay at home again. Also my friends had managed to find some free entry clubs which was good because I had been spending a lot of money lately. We had pre-drinks at Amy's place, there were about 5 of us. Obviously because I don't drink, I had the lemon lime and bitters, although I did have some vodka diluted with soft drink. Ugh I don't understand how people drink or take shots, it's painful. They had poured some vodka into a water bottle so we could drink just before going into the clubs. My friends were already a little tipsy on the way to Brisbane. The train ride was good because of the free wifi. We got to this place a little out of the city called Fortitude Valley, it's packed with night clubs, and apparently it's a dodgy area as well. Actually I didn't feel safe stepping out of the station but luckily I had my friends. We had KFC for dinner and walked around exploring the place, the Chinatown was nice but really small. I thought the Chinatown in Melbourne was small. We found a dimly light stair well to sit and finish off the vodka, I felt very dodgy even though I wasn't even drinking. While trying to find the first night club, there were these promoters who were walking around and handing out flyers to get you into a club. One of them had a promotion for a free drink, so we went into the club for the drink and left. It was still only around 9-ish, and I though that was late, but when we got to the first night club, there were barely any people. So we just stood awkwardly around, waiting for the place to pick up, eventually more people came but it still wasn't crowded or lively. So we decided to head off to the next club and it was Asian night, this club had $15 entry though. It was around 11.30pm when we got there, and the place still was relatively empty. There were these group of people who were really friendly and introduced themselves to us, I thought they knew one of my friends but I later found out they were just strangers. Those group of people were really into the dancing, especially girls dancing very err... provocatively. My friend ordered a long island ice tea, and I tried a bit and commented it just tastes like coke, but then I realized she hadn't mix the drink together yet, so I was just drinking the coke part, it was $18 for the drink which I thought was really expensive. Anywho so we were just dancing, and me dancing like a spaz, it wasn't just the small shifts side to side, but the full weird arm movements as well. I didn't really cared how I looked, it was a lot more fun to dance crazy, and it's not like I will see these people again. I like to think it was the alcohol (the minuscule amount that I had drunk) that made me loosen up. After a while, I saw that one of my friends was dancing with a guy, and I thought that was fine, then I turned around and they were making out. At this point I wasn't sure what to do, because she told me that at most she would only dance with a guy. Obviously you guys know how awkward I am in social situations, so I asked another friend to deal with it. He led my friend outside, so my other friend and I followed. Once we got outside, my friend with the guy had looked really drunk, so we got kicked out of the club. She sobered up outside but they still wouldn't let her back into the club. Anywho we went back to the club with the free drinks, and stayed there for a couple of hours. It was a really small club but there were still a number of people. This place was filled with quite desperate men, they kept trying to dance with my friends, which was a little awkward because then I was dancing alone. But my friend would pull me towards her so the guys could move away. Also by their looks they must of been late twenties or early thirties. At this place, they played pop music which wasn't too bad because I like to sing along when I'm dancing. I tried to request numerous songs but they never played them, and I got annoyed. After we left the club and tried to go back to the Asian club, unfortunately my friend tripped over her heels in line and they refused her entry. So we went back the first club, which had picked up a lot except I didn't like the DJ, he wasn't very good, no offence. Apparently they had UV stamps on your hands, and I thought their stamps were just out of ink. We hung out and danced in the club more. By this time, my friend was trying to get rid of the guy that she met, I swear he was very clingy. She stayed in the toilets for most of time, actually the toilets weren't too bad and they had automatic taps! (Okay, I have taken automatic taps for granted back in Melbourne, I haven't seen many in Qld). By around 3.30am, we walked my friend home, she was staying with her sister, and the house was pretty cool, and there were a lot of security locks and three security doors or something. Afterwards, we just hung out at Maccas waiting for the time to catch the train. I was just so dead by the time I got home which was around 7.30am, and plonked straight into bed. Overall it was an enjoyable clubbing experience, better than the one I had back in Melbourne where i got food poisoning from coffee. The clubs here are less pretentious and hipster, I think, not that I have been to many in Melbourne, there is so much more room to move and breath, and they are all located really close together, good for those who are wearing heels, I wasn't though. I hope to one day find the perfect club for, somewhere that plays my type of music, is that so hard to ask for?
Surfers Paradise Picnic:
On a Saturday, we decided to have a picnic at Surfers and do some general exploring. I made sushi and noodle salad in the morning. It was really good weather, and Surfers was so busy! I'm not a fan of beaches, too much sand but I didn't mind. I was trying to find the Surfers sign where Charles Trippy from the We The Kings was at, I did eventually find it (it wasn't that hard) and also went to the Starbucks that We the Kings went to as well, I still wished that they didn't come during exam period so I could have done more stalking! The picnic was awesome, except it was really windy, my friend made this epic fruit salad which was yummy! Surfers was a pretty cool place, although it was smaller than I thought. It has the same generic chain stores with a few boutique ones. Yeah, so if you're into beaches, I recommend Surfers, although it does already have a high rep, so it probably doesn't need my recommendation. Also I was wearing a circle skirt which I don't advise to wear in windy weather, it was constantly blowing up. Luckily i wore a tank top dress underneath so it didn't matter too much that it was blowing up.

Good Love Will Find Me
A lot has happened in the past month and I haven't had the time to document it all. However I somewhat have it stored somewhere in my head and I will try to bring it out for you guys.
First up was Monisha's birthday party, which I mentioned in my last post was the reason for my weekend back to Melbourne. Initially I had wanted to arrive early but things don't always go to plan. In the morning, I went grocery shopping with Mum and bought food for the GC. There are a lot more cheaper Asian groceries than in Brisbane, I guess we have a larger Viet/Asian population, I went a little crazy with stocking up on supplies hoping that I wouldn't go over the 10kg baggage limit. Anywho grocery shopping started late and we came home later than I had expected. I picked up Thanh and we made the one hour drive to Monisha's, we first stopped at Sharline's to help out with the project. I kept missing the turn into her street, and drove down the wrong way, it was funny because it started to look like we were in the country. Then we all drove to Monisha's, but staggering our appearances to make it look less suspicious, I'm not sure if it was actually like that but that's how it turned out, maybe I just drive way too fast. Her house was decorated with blue and silver helium balloons, the 2-1 balloons, it was pretty cool. Nug, Jen and Yen were already there. Things got really loud when everyone was standing around catching up; multiple conversations occuring simultaneously. It was awesome to see my friends again, especially those I haven't seen in ages. The food was awesome, and of course I couldn't control myself and overate, because the food is just so easily accessible when it's in front of you. It was hilarious when Thanh tied a helium balloon to Susan's hair, which made her hair "float", and gradually throughout the night, more people had levitating hair. At some point, some of us were trying to act like jellyfish, but for some reason we did snake movements. It was entertaining. There was butter chicken for dinner which I was excited about because it's been way too long since I've had good butter chicken, and again I ate a lot as well. We watched some youtube videos including one of this guy who reenacted Beyonce's music videos, I've seen it before but it was equally funny the second time. The night continued with more random happenings, plentiful photos, a start of a new fantastic spanish drama. Leaving was hard in the morning, it had been an awesome weekend back, and it was sad to leave and head back to the GC.
When I got back to the GC, we celebrated my friends' bday which I made a rainbow cake. I was very eager to see how it turned out and I'm proud to say it was awesome! We went out to eat Korean afterwards and it was good, however i was eating super quickly and the food was still very hot, because I wanted to catch the bus to make it to a tutorial. In the end, I did make it in time, I'm such a good student *cough cough*.
My mid-sems came up afterwards, spanning over two weeks, and I studied a little more this time, but probably not as much as I should be doing. The worst exam was my dental subject exam, it was just horrible, I felt incredibly flustered and nervous that I couldn't recall the information properly. But everyone else found it very bad and were complaining about it. Actually now that I look back at the exam after a week of calming down, I admit the exam wasn't too bad, I was just very angry at myself for letting my nerves get in the way and worried about timing, I knew a lot but just couldn't get it out my brain. A lot of people are worried and saying they are preparing for the supplementary exam, but for me, I'm surprisingly quite calm. If it comes to it that I failed the first time, then I will take the supp exam. I'm aiming for a pass, but I don't think I will be too bothered if I failed, I knew it wasn't my best effort and at least there is a supp exam. (Yes, I say that now, but let's see what really happens when I find out my mark). I think I'm just too tired of talking about the exam.
Finally after all the mid sems were done, we were finally free! Also it was the week of my birthday, I didn't really have any expectations of how the day was going to be, it's usually uneventful and just like any other day. But for the first time, I actually planned something on my actual birthday, it was just a dinner with my uni friends and housemates.Yen had called me a couple of hours before 12, to catch up and wish me an early happy birthday, we talked for a while and it put me in a really good mood. I did some food prep and made the red velvet cake, however I did split the icing which made it look grainy and runny, but it still tasted alright. I got birthday messages throughout the day which was lovely, and I also decided to skip uni for that day. Oh yeah, Monisha and Yen bought me this dentist beanie kid, but it arrived a couple of days early. I was so confused because they bought it off ebay, so I didn't know the sender, and I got a little freaked out because this person knows a lot about me, and I had no clue who they were. Luckily twitter cleared that up and I'm glad I don't have a stalker. So anywho back to my bday, I slept in really late and didn't really want to get out of bed. I spend a couple of hours making invitations for my Melbourne party, which I was supposed to be finished with weeks ago. Then some of my friends came over and help me prepare the food. I had a quite a menu which I had managed to pull of pretty much all by myself. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the food, but my friends do, so I will show it to you guys once I get them. Anywho, my friends starting arriving, and it was really cool because it's the first time they have been to my place. However I was still in my pj's and unshowered state, not a pretty sight, but i didn't want to change until I was finished making all the food. I'm glad that mostly everyone came, because I know I don't have the best track record the people showing up to my events. So for the food, I had made sushi (of course), rice paper rolls, butter chicken and risotto, still pretty proud of myself for making everything. Anywho as soon I got everything finished, I took the quickest shower and changed. I think the food was pretty well received, most of them live away from home and don't do much cooking, so this might of been a nice change? (well I already know my sushi was amazing). My friends had bought over this massive package that i was eager to open, the wrapping was just very pretty. So we cut the cake and had the red velvet cake with ice cream, which was a nice addition. And then I finally got to open the presents! Omg, they were such thoughtful presents, I'm somewhat surprised they actually pay attention to half the things i say, the bulk of the presents was food/lollies which I personally didn't mind. But everything they had gotten me, was something that I had said I wanted or liked; like they got me a hand beater and it was so good because I had been complaining how my beater at home was half broken. Anywho I'm also glad that I didn't have to do much washing up, my housemates and friends helped with the cleaning up and everything, and i was very grateful. Overall it was awesome night, and I'm happy that my friends were able to make it and make my birthday special and memorable. Oh yeah, I can't believe I'm 21!!!
The following day, I came home to this package from Susan, inside was more confectionery and home made muesli. She had written me two letters, one from "John" and one from her personally. Obviously, I knew the letter wasn't actually from John, but I just loved the way it was written and the content, while reading I was picturing Susan's personality and voice in John's body, yep that sounded a little weird but it's the truth. Reading through the letters, I felt incredibly happy, it was such a lovely written letter, it makes me so elated, giddy and smiling like an idiot. I'm so grateful for such an awesome and thoughtful friend.
I've got one more thing to talk about but I will save it for the next post, you'll be hearing about a "wild" side of me.

Great Night
Last weekend, I went back down to Melbourne for a couple days, mainly for Monisha's birthday. I have been looking forward to this weekend ever since I booked the tickets back in May. For the first half of the week I was too excited to concentrate on on uni. I had a good chunk of time in Melbourne, leaving Thursday morning and going back on Sunday. Everyday I had something planned so I could make the most out of the weekend.
When I finally got to Melbourne, I was a little frustrated because the flight was delayed. Once I got home, I only had about 45 mins to get ready, have lunch and pack things because I was spending the night in Bendigo. Another surprise, not a good one, I got a fine for running a red light which I still firmly insist I didn't, I sure do speed but why would I run a red light, that's just irresponsible. It was very nostalgic getting the vline to Bendigo, I miss the vline trips, I'd rather the train ride to a plane ride any day. I got picked up at the station by all of my pharm friends, it's so much better when there's cars, public transport can get tiring. It was awesome to get a chance to hang out with them because I didn't get to see them in the mid year break. We met up with Yen and Hannah, and we all went to a Thai restaurant for dinner. I'm a big fan of roti, and in hindsight i should of just ordered that, the yellow chicken curry I ordered was good too, but the serving was a little too big. I convinced my pharm friend to come to go karting and laser tagging, which was an event held by BOHDS (which was the Latrobe Dentistry student organisation). We all felt a little awkward at first, mainly because we didn't belong to bohds, but we were with Yen and Hannah (who are). The entry price was really cheap, only $10 for non-bohds members, we came a little late but still managed to squeeze in three laser tag games. It was really fun and while we started off hiding out in the corner during the game, eventually we put ourselves out there. I think I've improved my aim but I still suck, just not as much as my first time. There were some arcade games, but we were too stingy to pay for them so we tried to pull the tickets out of the machine. Because we were able to have the complex to ourselves, there were some freedom in how we acted, like climbing over the games to reach the balls or pressing every button to somehow magically hope that it would let us play for free. At the end, everyone who came to the event all came in for a photo, originally we were reluctant to join, but the people told us to come in the photo. Yen led us to the back of the group, and we found it hilarious because no one could see us, then the people let us in to the front. It felt so funny because we were sort of crashing their event and pretended we were dentistry students (okay I guess I am). After the event, I parted with my pharm friends as I was sleeping over at Yen's place. Oh it felt so weird to be back in my old house, although I didn't get a chance to see my old room or the rest of the house because I didn't really feel like meeting the other housemates. I felt incredibly happy being in Bendigo, and realized I missed the people and the environment more than I thought. Yen and I watched the latest episode of Bachelor Pad, don't judge it's my guilty pleasure. I left really early in the morning and I'm so grateful for Yen finally having her license and a car!
Friday morning was dedicated to spending time at Monash, it was funny how everyone kept asking me "Don't you have uni?", that's the beauty of lectopia (which i still actually haven't caught up in). It was nice to spend some time with Van, they had finished the day at 12 and because I didn't have much planned I took the train with her home. I found out she's been driving to the station alone on her learners! I don't know how she is not paranoid about getting caught, she also doesn't put any plates up either, just like she's on her full licence. When I got back into the city, I was looking for a present for one of my uni friends, I found some fox or cat earrings which i thought looked pretty cool. However I ended buying nothing because I couldn't make up my mind. Ugh it is so hard to buy presents. I was waiting around until Susan finished her prac, I bumped into Rebecca and we caught up for a bit before she had to run off to catch a movie. There was a band playing in a newly opened store that I can't recall the name of, they sounded pretty good but i was watching them from outside and too scared to go into the actual store. I think the band was The Jungle Giants, anywho they are an Australian band and didn't sound half bad. When it got a bit late, I decided to go home because I was tired from all the walking around, Susan had finished her prac late and needed to go somewhere afterwards. Oh boy, being in my own bed felt really good after so long.
Saturday was Monisha's birthday and I will write a separate post for that, because I have lots of photos.

Afro Circus
My apologies for the lack of updating, I just haven't found the time to sit down for ages and write a post. While it's still early in the semester, I am still trying to revert back to the uni schedule, as I am currently in holiday mode and taking a lot of naps. It would be unlikely that I will find time to write about the rest of my holidays, so I'm just going to keep moving forward.
This semester has started on a much better note, I now have similiar timetables to my dent friends which makes life a little less lonely. The feelings of homesickness have somewhat subsided however I still do miss myself around my Melbourne friends, but that will have to take some time to happen in the GC. In the first week, I am proud to say that I attended all of my classes, okay so pracs haven't started yet, but it is a lot better than how I was last semester. This streak also continued through the second week (the one lecture I skipped doesn't count because it was optional as the lecturer already finished the week's material).
The first weekend was a fun-filled weekend, where on Saturday was Brisbane City exploring day and on Sunday was Dreamworld!
The day started very early on Saturday, meeting at the bus stop to make our way to the city, and the first time that I have been on the brisbane train! I LOVE the FREE wi-fi on the trains! I hope melbourne really follows with the wi-fi option, one of the best decisions ever. The trains were a little different to Melbourne internally, maybe I'm used to the feel of the Melbourne ones. Once we reached the city, the station didn't feel like the 'city' at all. We got off at Southbank, which is comparable to to our Southbank. I think they had redone everything after the flooding and it looks amazing! There was this awesome walkway with pretty flowers hanging off it, and there were swimming facilities and a man-made beach which looked pretty cool. I guess the swimming wouldn't be that relevant to Melbourne due to the much colder weather. We explored the markets, acting like tourists and gushing over the little things, taking photos and crowding around the stalls. However I didn't buy anything. Lunch was at Max Brenner's, which I still am not the biggest fan of, but my dent friends seem to love? I had a hot chocolate and waffle. I have learnt (mostly) my lesson to not be greedy especially when it comes to sweet things. After lunch, we over the bridge to the city part where all the shopping was. The shopping was pretty decent however I only had explored a little part of the city, and most shops were closing. The city is quite confusing, for me anyways, I think they need to adopt the grid system like Melbourne, but luckily for technology and google maps on our phones. Half the group went to watch Batman, while the rest did more exploring of the city. I got really exciting spotting Asian groceries and discovering cheap food especially junk food. For dinner, we went to Korean restarant which served pretty nice, cheap and decent food, thank you urbanspoon for the reviews. Afterwards we quickly made to the station to catch the train. The buses don't run that late so we didn't want to miss the bus. On the train ride back, there were security men on board and that was awesome, made it feel a lot safe. My friends were cam-whoring on the train, funny to watch. Once we got of off the station in the GC, the bus didn't come for a super long time. To kill time, we took heaps of photos, and I like being the photographer. It felt weird because I only had my phone camera, because I left my dslr in Melbourne, and my digital camera didn't have the SD card. Finally the bus came, and luckily for my friend's sister who drove me home, otherwise I have to walk 25mins at 12.30 in the dark.
The next day was Dreamworld time! My friend and I decided to go for a yearly pass. I wanted to get the 10% discount for my friends who were buying the single entry pass. It took a while to process everything and get everyone through into the park. My first impressions of Dreamworld was pretty awesome, I loved the little themed shops and look of the whole place. To warm us up, we went on this ride which I called the mexican hat because it looked like one. Basically its a circle platform that spins around while it goes along a wavy path, it was very fun and a good level of thrill that I can handle. I definitely knew that I would not be able to go on all the big 7 rides, so I settled for The Claw, which looked like the most tame out of them all. Lining up for it was pretty terrifying, but I'm glad it didn't go upside down, that's a deal breaker for me. There were many times I wanted to back out but looking at the ride, it didn't seem that bad. I was very tense sitting down and getting ready for the ride. The parts that were thrilling when it was going back down, and you can feel the adrenaline rush. I hate that falling feeling in your heart, and usually when I experience scary rides, I closed my eyes, but this time I screamed/yelled which made it a lot better. I was so proud of myself for going the ride, and I actually wanted to go on it again! Throughout the day I went on most of the kiddy rides, and yes it did feel a little weird to be among very little children. Walking through the Madagascar part, I was singing the afro circus song a lot which none of the my friends seem to get or find funny. My favorite part of Dreamworld was my koala experience. It was expensive compared to the other zoos, but I have been looking forward to this for such a long time! My koala was named Frank and 19 months. He was the most gorgeous thing ever! He felt so soft and warm in my arms and a little heavy, and he smelt nice. I kept petting him. They told me he had been fed and he was just sleeping in my arms. So my photos had him with his eyes closed, which may have been preferable because koala's eyes are scary. I'm glad there wasn't a line or anything and I got to hold him for a long time, I'm not if it was actually a long time and that's how long other people got to hold a koala, but I'm glad they didn't rush us and were really nice. I feel incredibly happy afterwards and I'm looking forward to holding another one. Oh and an alpaca spat in my face, not the best experience, I just wanted a photo with it and pet it! Unfortunately we didn't have time to catch the lions, but it was okay because we had a yearly pass.
Sorry for the photos being out of order, it takes too much effort to move them around.

El Paso
I'm going to skip through a couple of weeks in the holidays, but as a reminder to myself to blog about later, I'm going to do a check list for future reference:
After all our eating, Nays had to leave, and we migrated to the rumpus room. Mon tried to show us some videos but then I found out we were capped, so it was loading super slow. Then we started to play Band Hero. I wish Band Hero or any of the other games came with more songs that we knew. I was simultaneously singing and taking photos, but because i kept rushing to be in the photo, i don't look very flattering. It was so fun as usual, its the only time that I play band hero, when my friends are over, it's not as much fun when you're by yourself. That probably explains why I suck so much especially at guitar, well that and my lack of hand eye coordination, and clumsy fingers. Thanh and Sharline were really good on guitar, progressively playing to the hard level. Nug and Mon shared the drums, and they are getting a lot better, compared to back a couple of years ago when it was the first time we played. It was really frustrating/funny when we would nearly finish the song and end up failing, or not even reaching the singing part yet! I found it really funny because Nug was delegated with the foot pedal which she ended up just holding it and using her hands to press it. We sorta lost track of time and before we knew it, it was already 8, this is extremely late considering most of them lived all the way on the other side (of Melbourne). We decided to play some final songs, and it was until 8.30, we decided to stop playing. I drove them all to the station, and we were still early, so they stayed in the car for a bit and talked. I had a mini freak out when my 'driving stick' (i'm not sure exactly what it's called) was locked and it wouldn't moved, even after numerous attempts to unlock it, it still wouldn't budge! It was nearly time for their train, so I told them to go, and I would be fine. It was sad to say goodbye, because arghh holidays are nearly over! Anywho, when they got off, I finally got the stick to move, thank goodness because I know nothing about cars!
