I'm going to skip through a couple of weeks in the holidays, but as a reminder to myself to blog about later, I'm going to do a check list for future reference:
- 27th-2nd July: Cairns
- 4th: Spiderman/Sleeping over at Mon's
- 5th: "Sherlock" marathon
- 11th: Baddy/Sticky Date
- 13th: Baddy w/V ; Sisky; Sleepover
Anywhoo, I'm going to write about my Mexican and Mustaches Fiesta that happened on Wednesday. I'm just very eager to show the photos that I took from that day because it was exciting! I'm sure I have said this before but my gatherings don't have the best turn outs, the percentage of people going compared with the amount of people that were invited is pretty low. That usually initially bothers me, but in the end I have so much fun, it doesn't matter. Well Susan was the first to arrive at 11; we just caught up and watched some you tube videos. I have no idea how the time went by so quickly, but at around 12.45, we started preparing the food. I had done most of the preparation the night before but somehow, we didn't start eating until around 2. It was still Susan and I, we were too hungry to wait any longer and started eating. I forgot to take a photo of the food I made but it was beef and vegetarian tacos, chicken burritoes and 'spinach', mushroom and cheese quesadillas (well it meant to be just spinach but I had used a salad mix). I thought I had made way too much food, but as more people came, we kept eating and pretty much finished off everything, which is good because I didn't want any leftovers. I do have photos of people eating the food, but definitely sure they wouldn't be too happy if i post them. Then around 2.30, Monisha came followed by Thanh. We just sat around eating, and talking. I told off Susan for eating all of the vegetarian food before Thanh had come. Then I went to pick up Sharline at the station and by the time we got home, Nays had also arrived. We continued sitting and eating and catching up. I started making everyone's moustaches, and then Nug arrived. We had already put on our moustaches and wanted to surprise Nug, I opened the door but tried to conceal my face. As Nug came into the eating area, we all turned around and revealed our faces for dramatic effect. Thanh was playing with the cut off felt pieces, and sticking them on her face, and it turned out to look very good and cohesive. However, we couldn't take her seriously when talking to her, she looked very funny, like an artist and a hippie? The others had 'normal' moustaches, except Sharline wanted a Confucius beard. Susan wanted a lightning bolt moustache, it looked hilarious on her because it was crooked. Susan and I had the idea to photograph Thanh as model, with the hair-dryer blowing out her hair. So turns out the hairdryer is not strong enough, and after numerous attempts, we gave up. It was so fun wearing the moustaches, but it made it hard for us to smile and have the full controls of of our mouth muscles. I obviously wanted to take some photos, as the photos progressed, the mustaches migrated to odd areas around the face. Also I apologise for some of the out of focus photos, I wasn't wearing my glasses so I couldn't properly judge.
After all our eating, Nays had to leave, and we migrated to the rumpus room. Mon tried to show us some videos but then I found out we were capped, so it was loading super slow. Then we started to play Band Hero. I wish Band Hero or any of the other games came with more songs that we knew. I was simultaneously singing and taking photos, but because i kept rushing to be in the photo, i don't look very flattering. It was so fun as usual, its the only time that I play band hero, when my friends are over, it's not as much fun when you're by yourself. That probably explains why I suck so much especially at guitar, well that and my lack of hand eye coordination, and clumsy fingers. Thanh and Sharline were really good on guitar, progressively playing to the hard level. Nug and Mon shared the drums, and they are getting a lot better, compared to back a couple of years ago when it was the first time we played. It was really frustrating/funny when we would nearly finish the song and end up failing, or not even reaching the singing part yet! I found it really funny because Nug was delegated with the foot pedal which she ended up just holding it and using her hands to press it. We sorta lost track of time and before we knew it, it was already 8, this is extremely late considering most of them lived all the way on the other side (of Melbourne). We decided to play some final songs, and it was until 8.30, we decided to stop playing. I drove them all to the station, and we were still early, so they stayed in the car for a bit and talked. I had a mini freak out when my 'driving stick' (i'm not sure exactly what it's called) was locked and it wouldn't moved, even after numerous attempts to unlock it, it still wouldn't budge! It was nearly time for their train, so I told them to go, and I would be fine. It was sad to say goodbye, because arghh holidays are nearly over! Anywho, when they got off, I finally got the stick to move, thank goodness because I know nothing about cars!
Future album cover?
Love Squealer.
